A little bit of magic in the air
Plane journeys are usually that bit in the middle of getting from A to B that we sit through and forget about soon afterwards. Unless of course something out of the ordinary happens (in my case, that something hopefully not being terrible turbulence!)
On a flight last month I experienced a little bit of magic in the air embodied by a Swedish newly-wed couple. So newly-wed in fact, that they were still in their wedding gear! And yes, you guessed it, it was on December 12 2012.
Hanna & Jonas got married in a small village north of Malmö in Sweden with two close friends as witnesses. After having lunch, they skipped across to Copenhagen and caught a flight to London for their honeymoon. As you do in a globalised world. Hanna told me afterwards how their London hotel surprised them with a beautiful mini-wedding cake in their room - a nice touch.
So on this grey day in January, I thought I would share this story with you as a reminder that plane journeys aren’t always dull, romance clearly isn’t dead and nor are we as the world didn’t end on December 21 2012. All in all good news. Happy New Year!
